25 years, 5 months, and 17 days.

That’s how long Best Friend R and I have known each other.

Confirmation of Two Things

This evening I was confirmed of two things.

1.  I am an “N” on the Myers-Briggs.

2.  I have the best friend in the world.

Both of these things were confirmed by a single action of mine…

I checked my mail.

1.  I realized tonight as I was walking to my car (past my mailbox) that I hadn’t checked my mail in almost two months.  Such an “N” thing to do, i.e. forget the menial.

2.  After I got my mail, I looked through it (how in the world did I get two issues of “Shape” magazine?!?  Sorry, Shape, I have zero interest!) and found TWO letters from my best friend.  Timely, meaningful letters, no less.

I have the best friend in the world.

P.S. I was also confirmed tonight that I am, in fact, cool.  This is my fourth night in a row being spent at Barnes & Noble.  Plus, I’m wearing *glasses*.  Plus, I’m dressed like I was born here, if you know what I mean; if you don’t, I can’t really explain it.  Plus, I have FIVE books (all getting read on a near daily basis) in tow, which are right beside my SEXY MacBook.  Plus, I just finished my Tall Light Caramel Frappuccino.

By the way, I had really bad gas (oh my gosh) today.  Just saying.

You Betcha

Audit (for licensure) = 100% approved on all counts

Counseling (my own) = Confirmed insight & clear steps forward

Work = gave my boss a schedule for a 50-ish hour work week with Tuesday mornings off so I can babysit Q.T. Nephew (I will even be taking Saturdays AND Sundays off! Yay!)

Paperwork = I’m totally caught up on proofing my supervisees paperwork; now just have to get caught up on my own

Saturday = Maryland!  Best Friend R!  And the movie Eat, Pray, Love!!!  I’m so excited; it rings in my ears as a perfect kind of day.

E-mails = from an important, good friend

Rest of the afternoon = paperwork…. booooraaaang!

Work = still a bit overwhelmed, but better

Office Coordinator (in my office) = AWESOME; she makes my life at work so much easier!

Dishes = still need done.

Laundry = still needs put away.

My Adventurous Spirit = Ready to Bust Out

Happiness on a scale of one to ten = 7.75 with a hopeful smile and an element of peace

That’s A Great Friend

I talked to Best Friend R three times before noon today.

Person-Centered Thinking Training

Day Two is better than Day One, so far.

And both days are better b/c Best Friend R is with me.

Hooray for that.

… should have someone who they are completely assured is their best friend.

Greatest Idea Ever

Have best friend like mine.

That will make your life so much easier and so much more worth living.

Also… tell her all your shit.

If she doesn’t help you sort it out (mine does!), find another best friend.

Make sure she marries someone fabulous, so that he can help keep you on the straight and narrow too.

Visit her as often as possible.  Even when you work too much.

Ask forgiveness when you screw things up.

And can I just say… she’s been my friend – my *real,* meaningful friend – my whole life.  That is so AMAZING!!  We don’t have a specific anniversary of when we became friends, so today is as good of a day as ever to celebrate that we’ve been friends 25 years and it has gotten better and better with time.

Ode to my best friend… She pulls through in a pinch ~ She can handle knowing my junk ~ She loves me ~  She accepts me ~ She’s always there for me ~ We are two peas in a pod ~ She likes me as much as I like her.

I love you, Best Friend R!  What would I do or be without you?  Ode to you.  You being my best friend is the greatest idea ever.

Feb. 19, 2010!!!

THIS COMING FRIDAY!!!

1)  I get to spend the day with Best Friend R!

2)  I’ll order a laptop that will make my job/life SO much easier and happier and it will probably make the stars align and bring world peace.  And if I get a Mac it will make me cool, and I’ll never ask God for another thing, except to go skydiving.

3)  I get to see my brother and sister and some other super people for a game night, at which I will definitely NOT be cool.  That doesn’t happen until I actually get my laptop.  But it will still be fun.

4)  I will not be working ALL DAY (not even paperwork!)!

I CAN’T WAIT TILL FRIDAY!!!!!!
